A Toast to Being Green

On any given day, the human mind processes countless amounts of thoughts and ideas that often disappear into the deep crevices of the brain. The most proven method of rounding up these lost gems of knowledge is simply to surround oneself with like minded individuals and engage in conversation. Unfortunately, it seems as though many of the venues in which conversation is made are simply accessible by a click of the mouse. Although electronic access has its convenience, there’s nothing like the atmosphere that is created through physical contact and the verbal exchange of ideas. One particularly interesting venue is hosted through a social network known as Green Drinks International. This network is comprised of participants from 742 cities around the world. Each venue is different, but the concept is generally the same: coming together to share ideas.
As the title suggests, the events are usually targeted toward an older (legal) crowd, however the main focus is to create an informal environment that encourages people to come out connect with other people that may believe or have an interest in being “green”. Participants are encouraged to share their ideas; however no one is expected to take a particular stance on a certain issue regarding the environment, sustainability, or other topics that may arise in conversation. No heated arguments, pointed fingers; just an opportunity to relax in a more engaging environment than your traditional bar or pub. Please visit the Green Drinks International Website to find a location close to you. You also have the opportunity to start your own Green Drinks event, if there are none in your area. Not only is it free of charge, but it is an excelled way to meet like minded people in your area, and get the green going!
